SYDNEY, Australia: Makeup artist Pearlin McCarthy won both the bridal and fashion editorial categories at the Australian Beauty Awards.
She bagged a double win in the Live Makeup Competitions held in Sydney by Beauty Expo Australia.
“No accolade compares to the triumph of making a woman feel stunning,” McCarthy said holding her new glistening trophies.
She said she is “humbled” by the awards and the best part about the ordeal is “to make people feel beautiful”.
McCarthy is also one of the top 10 finalists for bridal make-up artist of the year at the Makeup Artists Guild Australasia Pacific competition.
While discussing about the impact of online media she said, “With social media these days, a lot of people these days judge themselves very harshly. To be able to show women they are just as pretty as anyone else, it makes me happy.”
The veteran makeup artist has recently pushed herself to compete in various competitions.
“By competing you have a chance to get feedback from people higher up in the industry and also you get recognized more,” she expressed.
