Drug deader swallows methamphetamine stashes to avoid arrest

PERTH: In a desperate attempt to avoid arrest, an alleged Esperance drug dealer swallowed some of the methamphetamine stashes.

According to local media reports, around 10.10am on Thursday the 34-year-old man was stopped by police on Hannan Street in Kalgoorlie.

A joint operation carried out by Esperance and Kalgoorlie detectives helped identify the accused.

Police say the man was in possession of meth, some of which he attempted to swallow.

He was arrested and charged with several drug offences, as well as attempting to destroy evidence and obstructing police.

The man is due to appear in Esperance Magistrates Court on July 9.
