TEHRAN: Iran warned the United States on Saturday against any aggression against the Islamic republic.
A top military officer said that any aggression against Iran would have serious consequences for US interests in the region.
“Firing one bullet toward Iran will set fire to the interests of America and its allies” in the Middle East, armed forces general staff spokesman Brig. Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi told the Tasnim news agency.
Earlier, Iran’s foreign office spokesman has also reiterated Iran’s stance that any threat would be retaliated forcefully.
The Thursday’s downing of US drone by the Islamic Republic has spikes tensions between the US and Iran, bringing the region to the brink of full-blown war.
