PESHAWAR: A Peshawar High Court judge, Justice Muhammad Ayub, was attacked by unknown assailants.
The high court adjudicator was injured in the firing incident.
Police said that incident happened on Thursday morning. The judge was fired upon when he was in his car.
Superintendent of police (SP) Cantt Qaseem Riaz said the Justice Ayub was in his car when he was shot at by unknown assailants in Hayatabad’s Phase 5 area.
The injured judge has been shifted to a hospital, SP Riaz added.
Justice Mohammad Ayub Khan took the reins of the Peshawar High Court in 2017. Before his elevation, Justice Ayub served as judge of accountability court in Peshawar.
He also served as district and sessions judge and remained posted in different stations. Justice Ayub also served as registrar of the PHC.
