KARACHI: In a fist, a woman from the Hindu community has been appointed as Civil Judge/Judicial Magistrate in Sindh.
This is for the first time in Pakistan’s judicial history when a woman belonging to the Hindu Community has become a judge of the lower court.
Suman Bodani, hailing from Sindh’s Shahdadkot district, has recently appointed as Civil Judge after she passed the judicial officers’ examination conducted by the Sindh High Court.
After completing her intermediate from her native town Shahdadkot, Bodani persuaded law and acquired Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Hyderabad and Master of Laws (LLM) from Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) in Karachi.
Last year, Justice Syeda Tahira Safdar made history after becoming the first woman chief justice of a high court in the country.
