KARACHI: The PTI-led government is going to present a new mini-budget on January 23, a second within just five months after being voted to power last year.
Finance Minister Asad Umar on Saturday announced that the government will present the mini-budget on January 23.
Finance Minister told traders at Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry that through the mini budget anomalies in the earlier budget will be removed.
Asad Umar said mini-budget was initially planned for January 21 but was delayed as Prime Minister Imran Khan will be travelling.
The minister said that Parliament’s approval will be taken for any changes in tax policy. He revealed that the powers of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to issue statutory regulatory orders (SROs) have been withdrawn.
This would be the second such budget introduced by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government since it was voted into power in the July 28 general election.
In September last year, the National Assembly had passed Finance Supplementary (Amendment) Bill 2018.
