ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the top anti-graft body Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has said that Prime Minister does not have any immunity or exemption from any probe on corruption or misuse of authority.
It was immature to think the NAB has insulted the Prime Minister by initiating a probe against him, rather it shows no one even the prime minister was above the law, he added.
He insisted that the NAB probe did not disrespect the PM rather increased his respect.
“If the leader of the opposition can face such probes then the premier also doesn’t have the immunity from NAB probe.”
The premier promised to end financial malpractices from Pakistan, the action is a first step towards materialising the promise.
He rejected the perception that the NAB was under pressure for giving concession to the members of treasury benches. The chairman NAB said even if any pressure was excreted, the bureau will resist it.
He said that NAB won’t be part of any NRO, he added.
