Eid Al Fitr 2017 moon sighting in Australia today

CANBERRA – The Shawwal moon sighting (Eid Al Fitr 2017 moon sighting) in Australia will be conducted on Sunday, June 25, 2017, reported Australian National Crescent Sighting Coordination Centre.

The right time to observe the crescent of Shawwal is upon sunset of Sunday, June 25, 2017.

The official Facebook page of moonsighting Australia stated: “Over a hundred Imams across Australia, including 46 Imams from ANIC, have mutually agreed to follow the prophetic practice of moonsighting.

“They and their adhering communities have commenced fasting Ramadan on the basis of moonsighting.

“We would like to inform you that on Saturday will be 28th Ramadan and the moon will be of 4 hours age, therefore it is almost impossible to observe it on Saturday.

We, therefore request you to practice the Sunnah of the Prophet SAW and make an effort to physically observe the moon on Sunday evening, June 25th, 2017.”
