ISLAMABAD: The Met Department stated Friday that there are slight chances of sighting the new moon of Ramadan 2017, 1438 AH on the evening of May 26.
May 26 will be the 29th of Shaban, 1438 AH.
As per Met official, the new moon of Ramadan 2017 will be born on crossing conjunction point at 00-45 PST on 26-05-2017, an official of Met office told APP.
He informed that according to climate record, the weather is expected fair/partly cloudy in most parts of the country on May 26 evening.
The central committee has also announced that the chances of witnessing of the moon of Ramadan will be higher on May 26, Shaban 29 1438 HijriThe meeting of District Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will be held on the same day and at the same time.
The celebration date of Ramadan ad Eid is a matter of concern for the government; many parts of Pakistan celebrate the holy month and Eid on different dates.
The government has now taken a serious step to regularize the celebration of holy months, as we have seen in 2016.
The Water and Power Supply’s head Abid Sher Ali announced few days before that there would be no load-shedding during Sehr and Iftar times.
