Pakistan Steel Mills employees salaries expected next week

KARACHI: The protests of employees of Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) have paid off at last as the Government of Pakistan has decided to pay the remaining salaries in next week.

According to Dunya News, Pakistan Steel Mills will pay Rs. 57 crore in lieu of 1.5 months’ salary. Moreover, the government will still be liable to pay additional 3 months’ salary to the employees.

It is pertinent to mention that the production capacity of Pakistan Steel Mills is on halt since July 2015 as it has to bear at least Rs. 2 billion in lieu of monthly deficit.

The total deficit of the government institution amounted to 200 billion rupees.
