Facebook Messenger takes on Snapchat

Facebook is working very hard to make their Messenger app to have the similar features that other social networking apps offering. Facebook has upgraded some new features in Messenger’s camera, which also made the app heavier.

The Messenger update features 3D-masks and some special effects that works exactly like Snapchat’s lenses, that gives an output of some masks over your face while capturing photo with the app.

the app supports 15 languages and if you are user of one of the supported languages, the app suggests you some pictures for the words being used in chat to add some flavor and shows the activity in pictorial way.

The other options like the stickers and emojis stand still the way they were with more choices.

The camera can be run from the home screen of the app by just tapping the blob at the bottom, and if you want to record video you have hold the camera button for a while.

The latest  update is launched today on both platforms, iOS and Android. It supposed that Facebook want its stand- alone Messenger app to get buy space among other chatting apps.
