KARACHI: Junaid Jamshed’s funeral (Janaza prayer) will be performed today (Thursday) at Moin Khan Cricket Academy Ground DHA Phase 8, Karachi, Thenewstribe.com reported.
Mufti Taqi Usmani will reportedly lead Janaza prayer that will be performed at 1 pm.
Junaid’s body was identified through his facial X-ray on Monday.
Junaid’s brother Humayun Jamshed informed TheNewsTribe.com that all the arrangements have been made for the funeral of the deceased.
He said that the funeral would be held at Moin Khan Academy in Karachi on Thursday. Junaid Jamshed’s grave has been prepared at Jamia Darul-Uloom Karachi (Korangi).
Junaid Jamshed and his wife were among 47 passengers and crew members who died after their flight PK661 crashed near Havelian in Abbottabad on December 7, 2016.
The body of his wife, Neha, was received by her mother at PIMS after identification. Her funeral will be offered in Lahore.
Earlier, Humayon announced the funeral to be held on Wednesday, but he had to take the call back as DNA report of Junaid’s body was still pending.
Junaid Jamshed’s funeral prayers was offered at Noor Khan Airbase, Chaklala on Wednesday.
Air Chief Sohail Aman and top officers of the Pakistan Air Force attended the funeral prayers.
A guard of honour was also presented to the late scholar who died in a plane crash on September 5. After the funeral, the coffin of Junaid Jamshed was sent to Karachi via C-130.
