Chief of Army Staff visits Corps and Rangers Headquarters

Today, Pakistan Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, visited Corps Headquarters and Rangers HQ Karachi.

He was given detailed briefing about operational progress of the formation and security situation in Sindh particularly the metropolitan city of Karachi.

The focus of the briefing was the accomplishment of operation to sustain peace in the region.

COAS commended Army, Rangers, Law Enforcement Agencies and Intelligence Agencies for distinct betterment in the law and order situation.

He said that Karachi is economic hub of the country  and plays pivotal role, and security in the metropolitan has direct affect on overall business climate and economic activities of the whole country.

COAS highlighten that all out efforts will be made to strengthen gains made so far during operation and indiscriminately root out the rest of terrorists with their sleeper cells.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa particularly appreciated the support and sacrifices of people of Karachi in this journey towards gaining peace in the city.

He said he will not let Pakistan Army achievement to go in vain in the long run to towards peace and the operation will continue till attainment of sustainable peace.

He directed a focused and synergised effort of all military and civil intelligence agencies for the best effects to deal with potential threats to the peace of Karachi.

COAS said that Pakistan Army will provide all necessary assistance to provincial government for capacity building and training of Local Enforcement Agencies (LEA) for long term effectiveness against organised crime and terrorism to maintain the peace for the City.
