PIA grounds all ATR aircraft

ISLAMABAD:  After the order of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) ordered  PIA  ground all of its ATR aircrafts for the shakedown test.

The measures were taken by CAA when report came that an ATR aircraft’s, PK-581,  one engine caught fire on runway while take off on Sunday.

The flight had 48 passengers on board when it was taking off to Multan from Karachi.

However, nothing major happened and all the passengers were taken  out safely.

“It has been decided to keep all 10 ATR aircraft grounded till they are cleared after thorough examination,” says PIA.

As long as the ATR aircrafts are temporarily suspended, it will affect PIA’s flights to places like like Gwadar, Turbat, Panjgur, Mohenjo Daro, Zhob, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Chitral and Gilgit.

The whole situation forced the passengers to protest against PIA administration.
