PIA chairman Azam Sehgal resigns

Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) chairman, Azam Sehgal, has resigned from his designation.

According to initial information Azam sent his resignation to Prime Minister Nawaz Shareef, citing personal reasons.

PIA spokesperson confirmed that Azam Sehgal submitted his resignation.

Azam Sehgal was not taken into confidence before grounding all ATRs, this caused the grounding of 1/4th air-fleet of PIA.

The chairman’s decision supposed to be the aftermath of the crash of flight PK-661. PIA’s authorities have always been in constant pressure since the crash happened.

No single person on flight PK-661 could survive the crash and the families of the victims are still unable to collect the bodies of their loved ones. The bodies of the victims have not been identified yet and the process of identification is in process.

Beside this the First Pilot Ahmed Janjua’s family is also taking legal actions against PIA and claimed that PIA  tried to bribe the family and warned them to keep this matter a out of the  court.
