Asim Capri, Ishaq Bobby confess killing Amjad Sabri

KARACHI: Asim Capri and Ishaq Bobby, two killers arrested last month have confessed on Monday to have killed four army personnel and famed qawwal Amjad Sabri among gun attacks on police and Rangers.

Both the operatives of outlawed organisation were arrested in a raid in Liaquatabad area and it was stated by the government that they were involved in at least 28 crime cases across Karachi, Dunya News reported.

Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) presented the two before court today for a hearing during which Ishaq and Asim admitted to at least 13 cases against them. The confessions involved attack on vehicle of Military Police (MP) near Tibet Centre on M A Jinnah Road that killed four personnel.

According to the confessional statements, Asim and Ishaq martyred four army personnel over arrests of their accomplices.

In a press conference that Chief Minister (CM) of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah addressed after the raid that led to arrests of both, he said that forensic tests of evidence collected at different crime sites matched with weapons that were seized from Ishaq and Asim.

He said that evidence in at least 28 cases matched and led the authorities to accuse the two arrested terrorists.

Amjad Sabri was a renowned qawwal who was travelling to a studio in his car from his residence on June 22 when he was gunned down by motorcyclists in Karachi.
