Daughter thrown into canal over ‘delay in serving food’

FAISALABAD: A heartless man reportedly killed his daughter over delay in serving food in Faisalabad district of Punjab, police said.

Police spokesman said here Saturday that Parveen Bibi, a resident of Chak No 24-GB, filed a complaint with the Saddar Jaranwala police station, contending that her husband Abid Hussain tortured his daughter Allah Rakhi severely for late serving of food to him.

Later, he took her out and threw her into Gogera Branch Canal.

The police arrested Abid Hussain, who confessed to his crime, a spokesman said.

Man kills wife

In a separate incident Jhang, a man has killed his wife over a minor domestic dispute.

Police arrested the accused and registered a murder case against him. Police sources said one Arshad Iqbal, a resident of Mauza Lak Badhar in Satellite Town Police precincts, killed his wife Sumera Bibi with repeated attacks of hatchet and fled.

The deceased was mother of four children. Police handed over her body to the family after postmortem.

Later on, the police arrested the accused. – APP
