LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah announced on Friday that that the murder of stage actress and dancer, Kismat Baig, was an act of target-killing.
The stage performer was killed in Lahore last week in a gun attack.
“It was an act of target killing in which some people of showbiz are apparently involved, but investigations are underway,” the minister told reporters.
“A promoter identified as Muzamil and his companions are involved,” he said, revealing that the suspects have been arrested.

Kismat Baig, sister of Sitara Baig was shot 12 bullets on Thursday near HarBunspura area of Lahore.
She was rushed to hospital immediately where she succumbed to her wounds after a long 12-hour struggle.

Initial report of the postmortem examination said she died due to excessive bleeding.
Her family member claimed that she had no dispute or enmity with anybody, revealing that she was also attacked twice in the past.
Registering FIR against unknown persons, police are still clueless about the murder. Her mobile phone data is also being examined, an official said.
Kismat Baig was a widow and mother of two children.
