PCB replaces overage player from squad

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Tuesday that the name of Muhammad Khan was inadvertently included in the Pakistan U19 team for the upcoming ACC Youth U19 Asia Cup 2016 tournament, which will take place in Sri Lanka the next month.

Azam’s name was included in the final list of U19 players.

It has been brought to the notice of the PCB that as per the age cut-off date for the ACC Youth Asia Cup, he is not eligible and his name was included inadvertently in the squad,” said a PCB spokesman.

He said the Junior Selection Committee has, therefore, included Hadayatullah from the reserve players list in the final U19 squad in place of Azam and Khayyam Khan has been added to the reserve pool of players for this event. – APP
