Pakistan’s 15th Army Chief General Raheel Sharif is set to retire on 29th November 2016 after serving as the heartthrob and the most popular Chief in country’s history.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif were appointed on the respective posts on November 28, 2014.
During his historic tenure, General Sharif launched a successful military campaign against prevailing terrorism Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan, a step which brought the overall ratio of terrorist attacks down to 70%.
The Chief is also credited with expanding the role of paratroopers in Karachi, resulting in improved law and order situation in the country’s commercial capital.
General Raheel has set up special military units to ensure security of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), an economic project which is being seen as a game changer in the region.
