ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister House is going to host a farewell dinner today in the honour of outgoing Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif.
General Raheel Sharif will retire on Nov 29.
Samaa News reported via its sources that PM Nawaz will hold a one-on-one meeting with General Sharif to discuss the appointment of the new leader of the military.
The army chief is to retire on November 29 after his three-year tenure as the Chief of the Army Staff.
General Sharif has held farewell meetings with senior military officials ahead of his retirement.
The Ministry of Defence has sent a summary to the Prime Minister for appointment of new military chief and Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC).
The dossier carries names of four senior Lieutenant Generals – Lt-Gen Zubair Hayat, Chief of General Staff, Lt-Gen Ishfaq Nadeem, Commander-II Corps Multan, Lt-Gen Javaid Iqbal Ramday Commander-XXXI Corps Bahawalpur and Lt-Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, Inspector General Training and Evaluation.
The outgoing CJCSC, General Rashad Mahmood, who paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif yesterday, will retire from his service on the 27th of this month.
