New Pakistan Army Chief finalized, announcement tomorrow?

RAWALPINDI: Most popular Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif is going to retire on November 29th and Prime Minister House is preparing to give him a befitting sendoff.

General Raheel Sharif was probably the first Army General who undisputedly ruled the hearts of Pakistani nation during his two-year long term.

A General, who could have been a king! But he decided to strengthen democracy and kept himself at bay from politics.

His absence will be felt for long, of course.

According to reports available to TheNewsTribe.com, COAS Gen Raheel Sharif will retire on the due date of November 28, 2016, just as he had previously announced.

Following the tradition of Pakistan Army, Gen Raheel has begun to take farewell visits, and as per TNT correspondent from Islamabad, Prime Minister House has already started preparations for a befitting sendoff.

As the senior journalist, who is considered a source privy to GHQ lodges, Rauf Kalasra suggests that despite that Lieutenant General Ishfaq Nadeem Ahmad being second in the seniority list and most suitable contender of this post, PM Nawaz Sharif has decided against making him next Army Chief. The reason told is his aggressive nature, which according to Kalasra, Nawaz Sharif does not appreciate much.

As per the journalist, PM has decided to supersede him and appoint Lt Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa as the next Army Chief who stands 4th in the seniority list.

Another report from ARY News suggests that Nawaz Sharif may announce the name of next Chief in tomorrow, on the occasion of farewell dinner to General Raheel Sharif.

If Lt Gen Qamar Javed is appointed, he will be the 16th Chief of Army Staff, replacing General Raheel Sharif.
