Christchurch: Another eventful day in Test cricket. Fourteen wickets fell today, a rare sight in Test cricket. Pakistan batsmen showed grit and intent, but failed to score big as Trent Boult and Wagner made the dent in Pakistan batting lineup. Watch New Zealand fall of wickets vs Pakistan.
Thirteen wickets fell on the second day, 14 on the third – both teams lost seven each and after the dust settled Pakistan lead by 62 runs with only three wickets in hand.
Pakistan’s batsmen blocked and blocked and blocked for the better part of their second innings, crawling closer to parity, but Wagner broke the resistance with his short-ball attack before they could draw level.
And then Boult rattled the middle and lower order. If you can find somewhere to watch his ball to dismiss Sarfraz Ahmed, please do. One of the best you’ll see.
Earlier, Pakistan bowled out Kiwies for 200, with their tail adding more than 60 runs to the total. This is what Pakistan batting lacks in general.
Rahat Ali bagged 4-far, while Muhammad Amir and Sohail Khan shared the reaming, three wickets each.
