Traffic Police lays out alternate routes for Karachi during IDEAS 2016

KARACHI: Karachi Traffic Police has laid out alternate routes for the citizens of Karachi during the up-coming IDEAS – 2016 The International Defence Exhibition and Seminar to be held on 22nd – 25th November at Karachi Expo Center.

During the IDEAS 2016 roads would be blocked from Hassand Square to Stadium Intersection from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM on 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th November. Only specific traffic with special stickers would be allowed to pass from Stadium Bridge to Karachi Expo Center. Rest of the traffic would be diverted towards Dalmia and Millennium Mall on the Right and towards Dhoraji, New Town, Ghareeb-abad on the left.

Similarly, vehicles travelling from Karachi Airport towards National Stadium through Karsaaz road would be diverted towards Baloch Colony Bridge. U-turn under Tipu Sultan Bridge can be used to travel towards Shaheed-e-Millat Road and Jail Fly over for University Road and Gharib-abad.

On the other hand, commercial and heavy traffic travelling from Gharib-abad and Liaquatabad towards Karsaz would be diverted towards to the left towards Sehba Akhtar Road, University Road, Jaffery Optics, K.D.A Society and from there to Dalmia Stadium road or towards NIPA and Drig Road through University Road.

Traffic travelling towards Hassan Square and Civic Center from NIPA would be diverted on the left to Jaffery Optics, KDA Society to Stadium road from Steel Yard Cut, H.I Road and Agha Khan Road.

Traffic travelling from Sohrab Goth area towards City Areas is requested to use Shahra-e-Pakistan and Sher Shah Suri Road, similarly, traffics from NIPA is requested to use Rashid Minhas Road during this period.

Karachi Traffic Police has requested citizens to use these alternate routes from 22nd till 25th November to save time.
