Iqbal Day: Pakistan announced national holiday on Nov 9, Report

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has restored national holiday on November 9 at the occasion of Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s birthday, local media reported on Wednesday.

According to the reports aired in portion of Pakistani electronic media, federal govt issued the notification after restoration of national holiday.

Dr Iqbal was born on November 9, 1877 at Sialkot, now a district of Punjab province of Pakistan.

Imam Bibi and Sheikh Noor Muhammad, parents of Dr Iqbal, have two sons and four daughters including Allam M Iqbal.

Dr Iqbal is widely regarded as having inspired the Pakistan Movement, he was a known Poet, Philosopher, Politician while his professional identity was established as Educationist, Law expert and Scholar.

He died at Lahore on April 21, 1938.
