Azhar Mahmood appointed as Pakistan bowling coach

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed former Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood as Pakistan bowling coach for next two years, TheNewsTribe.com reported.

The decision was announced Tuesday after PCB failed to reach a contract with number of foreign coaches suggested by head-coach Mickey Arthur.

Azhar has coached Pakistan during Asia Cup T20 and World T20 tournaments earlier this year.

He also worked as a bowling consultant of National side during England ODI series.

Azhar, who played 21 Tests and 141 ODIs for Pakistan, came under fire after Pakistani bowlers were thrashed by England in the first four ODIs of the five-match series to lose 1-4, including a world record score of 444 in the third match.
