Pakistan vs West Indies 3rd Test Day 2 highlights

SHARJAH: After another thrilling day of Test Cricket, West Indies have reached to 244 in response to Pakistan’s 281 in the first innings of 3rd Test, Day 2 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah. Here are the highlights from Day 2.

The day was called off earlier as umpires thought the light has deteriorated enough for the players to walk off.

It was a hard-fought day for both sides. That West Indies have recovered from 68 for 4 is largely due to Kraigg Brathwaite, who has held one end up. Wonder if he’ll have a sleepless night, he’s five short of a fifth Test century.

Two others – Roston Chase and Shane Dowrich – wasted strong starts. All this means Pakistan are still marginally ahead.

The day hasn’t been without its fair share of drama and entertainment. Mohammad Amir’s dive into the record books was surely the moment of the day for me. Hope you enjoyed the coverage.

Earlier, Pakistan skipper won the toss and elected to bat first. Two early losses in the first over of the Test, set Pakistan on back foot.

Young opener Sami Aslam and master batsman Younis Khan built up a crucial partnership of hundred and six runs to see off the first the session played at very slow paced.

Pakistan lost Younis and Sami Aslam in a quick succession to have Sarfaz Ahmed and Misbah ul Haq build an 80-run stand for the fifth wicket.

However, Pakistan were rolled up for 281 in the first session of day 2.

Windies began their session with confident and aggressive fashion, but quick wickets cost them the momentum of the innings.

However, a handy partnership for the sixth wicket between SO Dowrich and KG Brathwaite of 83 runs, brought visitors back in the game.

Dowrich fell prey to fiery Wahab’s quicker one on 47 in the last minutes of the day. West Indies ended up on 244/6 as umpires called off early due to bad light.
