Gen Raheel announces gallantry awards for two soldiers

QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif Tuesday announced gallantry awards for the two soldiers martyred during anti terrorists operation at police training center in Quetta on Monday night.

Awards will be given to Captain Roohullah Shaheed and Naib Subedar Muhammad Ali for their valiant resistance against terrorists during Quettal carnage.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the soldiers neutralised one suicide bomber, and cornered the second bomber, helping large number of police recruits escape till he exploded causing the damage.

Capt Roohallah shaheed has been awarded Tamgha-e- jurat and naib subedar Muhammad Ali shaheed Tamgha Basalat.

At least 60 people were killed and more than 100 injured when gunmen wearing suicide vests stormed a Police Training Center in the Balochistan capital and took hostages, before launching an armed assault.

Five to six terrorists stormed into the police training centre at Sariyab Road and targeted at least 60 security officials after taking them hostage under the cover of aerial fire.

Inspector General of Frontier Corps Sher Afgan, in a press conference, said that the attackers were constantly in touch with their operatives in Afghanistan. He added that a search operation was launched immediately after the following attack which went on for four hours.
