Hilarious! Polish singer sings ‘Halka Halka Suroor’

LAHORE: A Polish singer dared to sing all-time famous and evergreen Ghazal of legendary singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan “Yeh Jo Halka Halka Suroor Hai” and he nailed it.  

Michal Rudaś, 35, is a Polish singer who is in deep love with the Hindi/Urdu classical Music and has taken part in various talent competitions national as well as foreign.

Rudaś sung the Pakistan’s legendary singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s evergreen song “Ye Jo Halka Halka Suroor Hai” in a Polish talent show The Chance of Success, though he had tried his best and was in full swing along with to keep him on the rail of the rises and falls, but he derailed numerous times.

The people of language (Urdu/Hindi) did not mind and enjoyed the Polish lilt in his singing style. Before the public performance he must have had rehearse the song a hundred time but still he was having trouble articulating some words  and phrases like Suroor which he pronounced Surooruru, Qusoor to Qusooruru, Hai to Ae.

The opening couplet which Rudaś has sung is difficult to make out either he was singing Urdu or some other language and sounds very funny from his mouth,  which was

Saqi Ki Her Nigah Pe Bal Kha Ke Pee Gaya”

Leh’ron Se Khail’ta Hua, Lehra Ke Pee Gaya

People might wonder that why a European person is singing songs of a third world nation’s language and why is he so interested in it.
