Younis Khan to miss first West Indies Test

DUBAI: Pakistan’s legendary Test cricketer Younis Khan is to miss first Test against West Indies at Dubai after being advised to rest by the doctor.

The star batsman is recovering from dengue.

Younis has already informed chief selector Inzimam ul Haq regarding his unavailability for the opening Test against West Indies.

The Test series will begin with a historic Day/Night, pink ball encounter at Dubai from Thursday October 13.

“Younis has informed chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq that he won’t able to play the first Test,” a PCB spokesperson told ESPNcricinfo. “The selectors are yet to announce the squad, but its is confirmed that Younis will not take part in the opening game in Dubai. He asked for rest to be fully fit before his national selection since he has recently recovered from dengue.”
