‘Salman Khan should leave India’

MUMBAI: For his pro-Pakistani Artists approach, Bollywood’s superstar Salman Khan is being widely criticised by Indian nationalist parties.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray as well as a Shiv Sena leader is among his dissenters.

According to a report published in an Indian newspaper Saturday, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray said, “Jawans are fighting for us at borders. What’ll happen if they decide to put down their weapons? Who’ll guard the borders? Salman Khan? Bollywood?”

“These artistes should realise ‘Nation first’. If they have so many problems, we will ban their movies too,” he added.

Party leader Manisha Kayande also took to Twitter Friday and said Khan “needs to be taught a lesson” for sympathizing towards Pakistan.

These comments sparked when Khan, while speaking at an event in Delhi on Friday, said, “They [Pakistanis] are artistes, not terrorists. It’s the government who gives them work permits and visas. Art and terrorism should not be mixed.”

To which, Kayande said, “Salman Khan needs to be taught a lesson. If he has so much love for Pakistani artists, he should migrate there.”

Initially, MNS was just one political party that had demanded Indian government to put a ban on Pakistani artistes, but Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association heeded to the demand and made the ban official.

Salman was asked to react on the same at an event yesterday, where he shared his unpopular opinion and has been hot waters since then.
