DUBAI: After ending their England tour on a high note with a 9-wicket win in the one-off T20I series, Pakistan will be very positive when they take on World T20 Champions West Indies in the first T20 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai.
Pakistan, reaping the fruit of their consistency and hardwork, have now topped the Test format as their leader Misbah ul Haq received the Test mace on Wednesday in Lahore.
But, situation is critical when it comes to white ball cricket where the Green Shirts rank 9th in ODIs and 7th in the ICC T20 international ranking.
In order to boost their status, and to avoid playing qualifying round for World Cup 2019, Pakistan have to leave behind their old-fashioned, safety-first strategy and play more attacking cricket to compete modernizing cricketing style.
West Indies, on the other hand have built up their image by showing off an aggressive style of cricket. Their ability to take calculated risks wherever necessary has earned them World T20 title for the second time.
It is hoped that Pakistan, would show a different class of cricket against West Indies, a glimpse of which was shown in the last ODI at Cardiff and then in the T20 against England.
