DUBAI: Fast bowler Kesrick Williams has been called up to replace Andre Russel for the three-match T20 series against Pakistan in UAE.
The series will commence next week on September 23.
The move came up after key all-rounder Russel withdrew his name from the previously announced squad for ‘personal reasons.’
Kersick Williams, while representing champions Jamaica Tallawahs, emerged as a consistent threat in this year’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
Williams, 26, finish third highest wicket-taker in CPL 2016 with 17 wickets in the League behind only Sohail Tanvir and Dwayne Bravo.
He is, however, a new face on the surface of Caribbean domestic circuit, with just nine first-class games and six List A matches in his career, the last of which came in 2014.
