LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appoints former cricketer Wasim Bari as the manager for National Cricket team for upcoming series against West Indies.
Bari has earlier served PCB as the chief selector for National Team during the era of Ijaz Butt, but was later removed for his growing age.
On Friday, Bari, on PCB’s invitation, spent the day at the headquarter of the cricket board at the Gaddafi Stadium and met with Chief Operating Officer (COO) Subhan Ahmed and a few other officials.
Bari was invited to PCB headquarter Friday where he held meetings with Chief Operating Officer (COO) Subhan Ahmed and a few other officials, during day-long stay.
Express Tribune reported via its sources that all matters have been finalised and Bari’s appointment will be announced soon.
Bari was quoted by Express News as saying, “Yes, I am in Lahore and have met with PCB officials.”
However, he refrained from commenting on the issue by saying, “Right now, I can’t comment on this topic. Let us wait for the official announcement.”
Bari represented Pakistan in 81 Test matches and 51 ODI matches.
