KARACHI: Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Wavda has ben arrested in Karachi on Wednesday evening, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
According to initial reports, PTI leader Faisal Wavda was addressing a protest rally arranged by Civil Society.
Wavda was arrested by SSP Malir, Anwer Rao after a failed attempt to end the protest rally which according to police was causing a huge traffic jam on Karachi’s Sharaa e Faisal.
Wavda was of the opinion that he has not asked any of his workers to stop traffic.
However, after failed attempt of talks, police, on the orders of CM Sindh, arrested PTI leader Faisal Wavda and his workers. Reports suggest that the PTI leader has been shifted to Airport Police Station.
The police also resorted to baton-charge to disperse the participants of the rally, which caused massive traffic jam on Karachi’s main artery.
Earlier, CM Sindh ordered police to take ‘any necessary action’ to remove protesters from the spot and clear the route for the traffic.
The traffic flow on Sharaa e Faisal has now been restored after five hours of jam.
