Pallekele: After a heavy defeat in ODI series with 4-1, Sri Lanka are ready to turn the table on mighty Australia when they meet in the first T20 international of the series at Pallekele.
The match is slated to begin at 19:00 local time (13:30 GMT | 18:30 PKT).
Sri Lanka tried to grip Australia into their spin woes, like they did in their famous 3-0 whitewash in Test series.
But Australia were tremendous with the way they adopted to low and turning pitches during ODI series. They not only survived themselves but made it difficult for the home side too.
The Lankans, who are currently going through a transitional period, have another tough go in T20 series after losing four out of five ODIs.
Irony is that they would have to do it without their skipper Angelo Mathews. The man who always stood firm to lead his side whenever needed.
Angelo got injured in the fourth ODI with a calf strain and ruled out of remaining series.
