CARDIFF: Pakistan beat England in the fifth ODI of the series after a nail-biting thriller by 4 wickets and 10 balls to spare , chasing down the 303 runs target in 48.2 over at the Sophia Garden, Cardiff.
Pakistan skipper Azhar Ali, won the toss and elected to bowl first on slow but covered pitch. The idea didn’t work that good for him as his pacers kept leaking runs.
England lost two quick wickets but didn’t lose the run rate.
Roy went on to score 87 off 89 balls to give middle order some support. Besides him, en Stokes (75) also held the England batting line. Rest of the batsmen could not do much to wonder Pakistan.
Hales (23), Root (9) and Morgan went for (10). However, Bairstow once again showed a glimpse of his fine form this summer before departing for 33.
Pakistan could not hold runs in the middle overs, but bowled brilliantly in the last part of innings to prevent England from scoring a big total.
Amir took 3 wickets  for 50 runs in his quota. Imad Wasim once again was phenomenal with the ball. He bowled his ten over for 33 and took important wicket of in-form Morgan. On the other hand, Hasan Ali, a bit expensive, but handy, bagged 4 wickets for 60.
Pakistan in reply were right on the money. Despite losing flamboyant opener Sharjeel Khan  for his 10, Azhar Ali (33) and Babar Azam (31) did not let the run rate down before being rattled in the same over of Wood.
 It was Sarfraz Ahmed (90) and Shoaib Malik’s (77) turn to tow the innings. The pair started slowly but once settled, they converted it into a 163-runs partnership for the fourth wicket in 23.2 overs.
 Things seemed easy before their departure, but two quick wickets of both set batsmen, pt Pakistan in a little bit of pressure.
All-cool Imad Wasim (16*) and Mohammad Rizwan (34*) took their time to ride their team to a much needed 4-wicket win against England.
The impressive all-rounder Imad Wasim remained not out throughout the series.
