NOTTINGHAM: England’s opening batsman Alex Hale’s record breaking innings of 171 put Pakistan out of the third ODI at the Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
Hales, who was consistently struggling with his batting form both in Test and ODI series finally found it today on his own home ground at Trent Bridge.
Before this inning, Hales had been failing to find the right nick. In the first ODI he got out for 7, while in the second ODI, he could only manage 14 runs. Similar was the story of the 8 innings of four Tests he played against Pakistan.
But, confidence from the team management helped him come out of the depth of uncertainties and put a record-breaking innings of 171 runs off 122 balls.
With this blistering knock, Alex Hales became man with the highest individual total in an ODI innings from England.
His swashbuckling knock was studded with 22 fours and 4 ginormous sixes.
Not only he created individual records, he also built a record 248 runs partnership for 2nd wicket.
