PM forms committee for action on anti-state elements

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has formed a legal committee to pave the way for crackdown on anti-Pakistan elements as part of preemptive measures to forestall activities that are tantamount to treason.

The committee will function under Attorney General with provincial home secretaries and all four law secretaries to work as its members, reported Samaa.

The committee has been mandated to draw up recommendations for modus operandi of action against anti-state elements including terrorists, Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain and his party involved in activities against the interests of the country.

The recommendations prepared by the committee will be tabled before the task force of National Action Plan (NAP) and then to the Prime Minister for final approval
