KARACHI: Former federal minister and ex-MQM MNA Nabil Ahmed Khan Gabol said that he was ready to provide security to Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain over threats to his life.
“I will assign someone from Lyari to safeguard Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain in my personal capacity if the government refuses to provide security,” Gabol told SAMAA TV.
He recalled that he had been warning the religious scholar of potential threats to his life from the MQM.
“We have to protect Mohajirs from Altaf Hussain,” he said.
To a question, he said that it was high time for Dr Farooq Sattar to disown Altaf Hussain.
“Dr Farooq Sattar is the Chairman of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan,” he said.
“If Dr Farooq Sattar wants to head the party, he will have to completely distance himself from Altaf Hussain. There is no other option,” he added.
