Pakistan set 261 target for England in first ODI

SOUTHAMPTON: Courtesy to Azhar Ali’s 82, Pakistan have set a fighting total of Pakistan to 261 runs in the first ODI of five-match series at The Rose Bowl, Southampton.

Pakistan captain Azhar Ali won the toss and opted to bat first on a dry surface.

Sharjeel Khan could not convert his good form into performance as he got out for just 16 runs off 15 balls.

Hafeez failed miserably for just 11.

Skipper Azhar Ali, who had not scored a fifty in his last 12 innings, scored a well-managed fifty. Just when he was looking solid, he top edged one from Adil Rasheed which went straight into the hands of Moin Alee. He scored 82 off 110 balls

Babar Ali was unfortunate to become prey of a controversial decision of LBW from umpire. He scored 40 out of 42 balls.

Pakistan were going good before rain stopped play in 43rd over. But, right after the play resumed, the lost two quick wickets to lose the plot.
