Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain quits MQM

KARACHI: Senior leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain has announced to quit party on Tuesday evening reported.

While speaking to a local TV show, prominent leader of MQM and religious scholar Amir Liaquat Hussain announced to distance himself from MQM.

During the show, former MQM leader said he always tried to maintain the peace between party and the government, but he failed. He not only left the party, but also announced to leave politics.

Earlier, in an statement, Dr Amir had distanced himself from the anti-Pakistan, anti-state statements of chief of party Altaf Hussain.

The key representative of MQM said it was not the policy of the party to attack media houses as he condemned what transpired on Monday.

While speaking ti media after release from Rangers’ custody, Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain said he is very depressed from the situation and does not want to comment on it any more.

Amir Liaquat said, whatever happened last night was disastrous and was not supposed to happen.

He further said, he has decided to distance himself from party leadership’s statement and will soon announce his future course of action.
