Taliban group claims responsibility for Quetta blast

PESHAWAR: A faction of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for a suicide bomb that ripped through Quetta’s Civil Hospital on Monday morning. 

The deadly blast has for claimed at least 70 lives while score of people are wounded.

A spokesman for Jamaatul Aharar, which falls under the umbrella Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan group, told journalists via email that his faction “accepts responsibility” for the attack in the southwestern city of Quetta, and vowed more attacks “until the imposition of an Islamic system in Pakistan”. – AFP
