BIRMINGHAM: In a complete turnaround of the game, England have outclassed Pakistan in the contest of Day 3 Edgbaston Test, after being on receiving end on first two days.
England first got Pakistan’s last men out for just 143 runs, and then tamed their bowlers with real classy batting display.
Pakistan were bowled out for the total of 400, with 103 runs lead. English openers successfully trailed off and took the lead of 17 runs till the end of the play for Day 3.
England were 120 for non in their second innings,at the stumps. Skipper Cook once again leading from the front, was 64 not out and Hales 50 not out.
It was the first time in 18 innings as a Test opening pair the duo had posted a century partnership.
From here on, if England gears up the pace of batting and get quick 400 or more runs till the end of the day, they would be in the great shape to bowl Pakistan out on fourth day to win the game.
On the other hand, Pakistan only have chance if their main man, Yasir Shah gets some assistance from the pitch.
