BIRMINGHAM: Pakistan’s one-down batsman Azhar Ali has completed his maiden hundred on English soil, giving Pakistan an edge on second day of Edgebaston Test at Birmingham.
Azhar came at the crease in the very first over of the morning and of Pakistan innings after opener Mohammad Hafiz went for duck.
He along with Sami Aslam, the young led, built up a golden partnership of 182 runs for the second wicket.
Aslam, unlucky today, failed to reach his maiden Test hundred as he fell prey of suicidal run-call from Ali. He went for 82.
For icing on the cake, Azhar Ali celbrated his hundred with Pakistan’s new trademark-celebration style, the press-up style.
Azhar Ali is currently batting on 103 (213). Pakistan are 205-2 in 69 overs till the filing of this story.

Azhar’s hundred, along with Aslam’s 82 have put Pakistan in the driving seat of the game.
Another big partnership, and Pakistan takes the game away from England.
