BIRMINGHAM: Right arm Pakistan fast bowler Sohail Khan has proved his selection over pacy Wahab Riaz right by giving its team a remarkable breakthrough on the first day of Edgbaston Test.
When Sohail Khan removed Alex Hales on 17, it was the reward of his tight line and length. Hales was unlucky again, as he got a brilliant one from newly added arsenal in Pakistan bowling attack.
His second prey, however was the most required wicket for Pakistan in this session, Joe Root, the double-ton-maker and hero of Old Trafford. Root went for 3, and England were 48/2.
This would have been a proud moment for captain Misbah, who would have taken a sigh of relief, feeling proud of Sohail at the same time who had proved his both strange decisions right.
His first decision, to prefer Sohail over Wahab, and the second and most criticised one, opting to bowl first after winning the toss.
Sohail has provided just the kind of start Mibah had wanted.
For the icing on the cake, Rahat Ali, the crooky fellow has made another dent in England batting lineup by removing inform Cook for his 45. Pakistan are currently on top of the game.
England have scored 89 runs for the loss of three wickets till the filing of this report.
