Video of hot air balloon crashing in Texas

TEXAS: A hot air balloon caught fire in the air and crashed in a field in Texas, perhaps no one could survive, the local sheriff says.

“It does not appear at this time that there were any survivors of the crash,” Caldwell County Sheriff Daniel Law said in a statement, according to his office.

The sheriff stated, when emergency crew arrived, the basket of the balloon was on fire.

According to Federal Aviation Administration statement, the balloon crashed in a field at about 07:40 (12:40 GMT).

FAA is investigating the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board will eventually take over the inquiry.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott offered his condolences to those killed in the crash.

Texa governor Greg Abbott was quoted by TNG as saying, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, as well as the Lockhart community.”
