LONDON: Xiaomi, the leading Chinese smartphone company has just launched its first dual lens camera phone in China on which the rest of the world is going to drool over.
Though, there are various phones with dual camera, such as; LG G5, Huawei P9 with LEICA lens, Huawei Honor 6 Plus and HTC One M8. But you must be wondering that what Xiaomi has new to offer.
Let’s first start with the specs. Xiaomi Redmi Pro has 3 variants 32/64GB with 3GB of RAM and 128GB with 4GB of RAM. The phone has full HD 5.5-inch OLED display with 401ppi pixel density, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a microSD slot supports up to 256GB (uses SIM 2 slot), 5 megapixel front-facing camera, a dual camera 13 megapixel Sony sensor + 5 megapixel Samsung sensor camera, a fingerprint sensor, a USB-C connector and an ample non-removable 4r050mAh battey.
The device is using Mediatek MT6797T Helio X25 in 128GB model and Mediatek MT6797 Helio X20 in 32/64GB model.Xiaomi redmi pro | thenewsglobal.com
So, how the dual camera works? The 13-megapixel camera has the Sony IMX258 sensor with 2.0 aparture and the other is the Samsung 5 megapixel camera for detecting depth of the view. Both cameras take the picture at the same time and let you to refocus the image after capturing image.
Therefore, you need not to worry about focusing the objects while taking the photo, you may do it later. Last year the same feature was introduced into a $350 DSLR camera ILLUM by LYTRO in which you can focus the object even after taking the photo.
The price of the phones converts to almost $225 of 32GB , $255 of 64GB and $300 of 128GB variant.
Below are the pictures taken by Xiaomi Redmi Pro where you can observe that no any smartphone camera can take this caliber of images and handle this depth of an image.
