LONDON: The Lord’s win was probably the most jubilant moment of the week for Pakistan nation, but the celebration style of the national team made even more special for all.
The celebration was probably dedicated to Pakistan Army, who trained the team for two weeks before the series.
Pakistan defeated England by 75 runs Sunday, in the first Test of the four-match series at Lord’s .
Pakistan captain, Misbah-ul-Haq, elected to bat first, after winning a golden toss. Pakistan posted a total of 339 runs in the 1st innings.
Misbah remained the top-scorer with 114 runs whereas Chris Woakes took 6 wickets for England.
England in reply, were bowled out for a total of 272 runs on the third day of the game in the first innings.
Pakistan, after having a lead of 67 runs, were able to make another 215 runs hence giving England a total of 283 runs to win the match.
With an individual total of 49 runs, Asad Shafiq was the top-scorer for Pakistan.Whereas, Woakes again was the leading wicket-taker for England with a 5-for in the second innings.
England were bowled out for a total of 207 in the second innings of the match. Johnny Bairstow was the top-scorer for England with a score of 48 runs.
Yasir Shah was yet again the leading wicket-taker for Pakistan with a total of 4 wickets in the second innings.
Rahat Ali picked 3 wickets. Mohammad Amir bowled out 2 players. Pakistan won the match with a total of 75 runs.
