Army ‘takes over Turkey government’

ISTANBUL: The army group who recently launched an attack on sitting government of Tayyip Erdogan, has now announced on TV that it has taken control of the government.

However, PM Yildirim had recently announced via telephonic address that it was an illegal attack by a certain military group, that has nothing to do with Turkey Army.

Turkish military group has closed bridges in Istanbul while air-crafts flying low over Ankara.

Gunshots are also heard in Ankara while army tanks have been deployed outside Istanbul airport.

Traffic has been stopped from crossing both the Bosphorus and Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridges in Istanbul, reported BBC.com.

BBC quoted Mr Yildirim via NTV television that,  “We are working on the possibility of an attempt. We will not allow this attempt.” He did not elaborate.

“Those who are in this illegal act will pay the highest price,” he added, saying it would not be correct to describe the move as a “coup”.
